We decided last week to take the girls on an impromptu road trip to our Nation’s Capital. The next few blogs will be about our vacation. This is our first “vacation” as a family of 4. We’ve had many 1 night stays in hotel, but this is the first time we’ve stayed anywhere more than 1 night.
605 AM We are on the Road to DC.
607 AM Lyndie is saying “goodbye” to all the buildings we pass in Dublin- Trinity is not amused and the bickering has begun.
643 AM We make our first stop for Gas- We should have filled up the night before. Thankfully the bickering is over for now.
822 AM We make it to the great state of West Virginia.
834 AM We make it to Pennsylvania
913 AM Bathroom Break in Waynesburg, PA
946 AM back in to West Virginia
1025 AM the girls have talked Daddy into singing “The Man Song” aka Innocent Man by Billy Joel. as we crossed into Friendsville, MD

1137 AM stopping for lunch at Subway in Hancock, MD

1208 PM After we filled our bellies we decided to stop and play a little while at Widmeyer Park along the Tonoloway Creek. On the way to the park Lyndie yells “Watch out world we are coming thru”

1241 PM we get back in the van and on the road again, the GPS keeps giving directions over the van speakers and Lyndie says “Mommy, make it stop I can’t take it anymore”
203 PM We cross into Virginia and by 228 PM we are at the hotel and checked in.

We decided that some downtime was needed after all of that driving. Lyndie took a Nap and Trinity looked over her books from the library about Washington, D.C. after the much needed break we decided to head into DC

One of the first things we saw when we got off the train was the Washington Monument and then We manage to navigate all the to The White House, because of the time of day and the on/off rain sprinkles there was hardly anyone else around

While we were at the White House we got to talk to some of the Secret Service agents and they gave the girls “Secret Service” sticker badges and a fist bump.

Day 1- The END, we headed back to the hotel and got a good nights sleep.
