Instead of doing a day by day play like i’ve done in the past, i decided to try something new for this trip since and blog about each stop since I have to wait until we have internet. We arrived to Cave Country RV Campground . This was our first campsite with “full” hook ups. It was a nice gravel site (the girls were bummed they couldn’t ride their scooters) but they made do with dinosaurs and playground balls. The camp store/office was very nice and they also had a pool table and some exercise equipment ( we didn’t use them but they looked to be in good order) We did us the laundry facilities (coin operated, very clean machines/room. We did not use the shower house but did peak in and it was also very clean. My only negative about the campground would be the noise, since the campground is very close to the highway and VERY close to some train tracks it was quite noisy but it didn’t bother us to much.

While we spent a few days in Kentucky we went to Dinosaur World- See  Lyndie’s post about it here and to Mammoth National Cave- you can read about our trip from Trinity’s post here. We also spent some time visiting at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace

We also went to Lost River Cave where we took a boat tour of the cave. YES! A boat on a river underground. Lost River Cave isn’t a National Park so no official Jr. Ranger Program but they did do the “Jr Tour Guide” booklet and earned a patch and a certificate.

After we finished up at Lost River we went to the National Corvette Museum which was reciprocal with our NARM membership. The kids didn’t thoroughly enjoy it but they did think some things were neat like the design and build your own car (plus they earned a girl scout badge!) and learning what a sinkhole is and seeing the corvettes that they pulled from the famous sinkhole in 2014

That rounds out our second stop of this trip! Overall we had a great time in Kentucky. We would stay at the campground again if we were in the area. Onward to Tennessee.
