Today is another long travel day, destination Indianapolis,Indiana. The morning started out like any normal travel day, except our first stop was just a few miles from the hotel- according to the Roadside America app this is “The worlds largest Wooden nickel”
This was a quick stop and then we were back on the road again but we didn’t get far before we came to the next stop, Iowa 80. What’s Iowa 80 you ask? The worlds Largest Truck stop. This place was huge and had a food court inside and many “departments” from clothing to home decor to of course a huge section for anything a trucker could ever need on the road- horns, lights, truck mattresses and more.
Right next door to Iowa 80 is Iowa 80 Trucking Museum, the girls thought it was “so boring” but there was definitely some interesting things inside and best part, it’s free, but they do accept donations.
It felt like we were here at the truck stop and museum forever, ok maybe not forever but definitely long enough to get lunch at the food court. (Remember we are only about 40 miles from where we started!)
The rest of the afternoons travels were uneventful and we made it to Indianapolis in time for dinner and a swim, did I mention it’s my Birthday Eve?
Look what was waiting for me in our room?
