Started off with breakfast at the hotel, what a breakfast it was. There was a guy down in the breakfast area with a white shirt, black mesh trim along the bottom and block thong underwear and flip flops. You read that correctly- shirt and shoes are what’s required right?!? LOL. The hotel staff made him leave the breakfast area to put some pants on- we never did see him again.
Headed to the Metro and because of My paranoia we take full body shots before we head into the train station. The girls were so excited to wear their new dresses.
We took the metro and lots of walking to Smithsonian’s National Zoo. We went solely to see the giant panda bears.
Matt spoiled the girls at the panda gift shop and they both got new stuffed pandas and new panda necklaces. When we had enough of the pandas we headed back to the metro where Trinity decided she was big enough to hold/use her own card to get in/out of the stations. We headed toward the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, but We got distracted on our way to the Museum “The Castle” and the Carousel on the Mall
When we finally made it to the National Air and Space Museum and the girls promptly declared “It’s boring, I’m tired, I’m hungry” So I took the girls to look at a few things while Matt went and explored the museum because lets face it, we went there for him really.
Then we met back up with Matt and got a quick snack. He went on out to explore some more of the museum and the girls and I went outside for mini photo shoot
When Matt was done at the museum we decided to grab some dinner and what better place to take our future rock star then to Hard Rock Cafe where we got to sit on the stage.
We ended up visiting the gift shop of course and the girls got a Hard Rock t-shirt and drum sticks :). After eating dinner we stopped for a quick pic at Ford’s Theatre.
On the way back to the metro station I couldn’t resist snapping a few pictures with this black door as a backdrop
Thats a wrap on Day 2.
